Voquill is a cross-platform AI voice dictation and assistant application. In production, it captures audio via microphone, transcribes it using local Whisper models or cloud AI providers (Groq, OpenAI, Deepgram, AssemblyAI, Azure, etc.), then optionally post-processes the transcript through an LLM to apply writing styles/tones (polished, verbatim, email, etc.) before inserting the text into the focused application field. It also features an agent/assistant mode that can execute tools (paste text, run terminal commands, get accessibility info) through a tool-calling LLM loop. The architecture is a monorepo with multiple delivery channels: a Tauri desktop app (Rust backend + React/MUI frontend) with native overlay 'pill' windows for dictation status, a Flutter mobile app (iOS/Android) with keyboard extensions, a Rust CLI for headless session sharing, and an enterprise suite with a Node.js/PostgreSQL gateway and React admin panel. The desktop app uses SQLite for local storage, Firebase for cloud sync and authentication (consumer), and supports enterprise authentication via OIDC SSO. Key entry points include the desktop app's main.tsx (Firebase init, Stripe, IntlProvider), the CLI's voquill.rs binary, the enterprise gateway's Express server, and the admin panel's React router. Data flows from audio capture through platform-specific recorders, to transcription sessions (local sidecar or WebSocket to cloud providers), then to post-processing via LLM, and finally to text insertion via keyboard simulation or clipboard paste. External dependencies include Tauri, React, MUI, Firebase, Stripe, Mixpanel, multiple AI SDKs, Whisper.cpp, and PostgreSQL for enterprise deployments.
