This repository is a monorepo of Apple-authored Unity plug-ins that bridge native Apple frameworks (GameKit, StoreKit 2, CoreHaptics, PHASE, GameController, Accessibility, BackgroundAssets, SpatialController) to Unity C#. Each plug-in follows a consistent dual-side architecture: native Swift/Objective-C wrapper code exposes C-callable functions via @_cdecl and bridging headers, while C# Unity wrapper assemblies use DllImport/P-Invoke to call across the boundary. Apple.Core is the shared interop foundation, providing NSObject-style pointer wrappers, Foundation collection bridges, async Task conversion for native callbacks, OS availability attributes, and editor build-step infrastructure. All other plug-ins depend on this core and reuse its callback and memory-management conventions. In operation, data flows from Apple frameworks into Unity through raw pointer handles, InteropReference-derived C# objects, and MonoPInvokeCallback completion callbacks; native async APIs are surfaced as C# Task or IAsyncEnumerable APIs. The repository also contains Unity Editor integrations that mutate generated Xcode projects during builds (Info.plist, entitlements, framework embedding, code signing), plus demos, tests, and a Python build orchestration layer (build.py and upi_unity_native_plugin_manager.py) that compiles native libraries, runs Unity test builds, and packages releases as .tgz archives. There is no data-research or ML component; this is an SDK/plugin collection, not a hosted service or pipeline. The codebase is actively maintained and tracks recent Xcode/Unity/Apple OS releases, including iOS 26 and Unity 6 deprecation handling. Technical drift is medium: significant duplicated third-party/vendored code, pervasive OS-version conditionals, manual pointer ownership, and several future-dated or speculative APIs create ongoing maintenance burden and some fragility at the native interop boundary.
