This repository is the Microsoft 365 Learning Pathways solution (PnP custom-learning-office-365), a SharePoint Framework (SPFx) web part that provides a customizable training portal for end-user adoption of Microsoft 365. Built with React, TypeScript, and SPFx 1.23.2, it delivers curated learning playlists and assets (videos, articles) from Microsoft and community sources via CDN-hosted JSON metadata. The application consists of two main web parts: a viewer (CustomLearning) for browsing and searching content, and an admin (CustomLearningAdmin) for managing playlists, categories, and custom content packs. It supports multilingual content (9+ languages), telemetry via Application Insights, and optional analytics webhooks. The solution relies on SharePoint tenant properties for configuration and uses a custom design system (hTWOo) for UI components. While well-architected for its SharePoint context, the codebase is tightly coupled to SPFx and SharePoint APIs, limiting reusability. The project is now community-supported with v4 support ending December 2026, and carries medium technical drift due to React 17, a legacy Pattern Lab styleguide, and heavy lodash usage.
