ezEngine is a modular C++ game engine and editor suite. The engine core provides an entity/component world model with reflection-based serialization, resource management, a task scheduler, math/container libraries, and a graphics abstraction layer (GAL) with DX11 and Vulkan backends. The editor is a Qt desktop application that runs an isolated engine process connected via IPC/object mirroring; it includes asset document managers for meshes, textures, materials, animation graphs, state machines, particle effects, and procedural generation graphs. Runtime plugins add Jolt physics, FMOD/MiniAudio audio, RmlUi UI, Recast navmesh/AI, AngelScript and VisualScript scripting, and OpenXR support. Entry points include the editor executable, a game player tool, a fileserve dev server, shader compiler tooling, and sample games like Asteroids, PacMan, and an RTS prototype. Builds are orchestrated by a custom CMake-based system with platform-specific toolchains for Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, and WebWASM targets.
