This repository contains Moss, a from-scratch Linux-compatible operating system kernel written primarily in Rust with hand-written AArch64 assembly. When booted in QEMU or on ARM64 hardware, it initializes physical memory and device trees, sets up page tables, starts per-CPU scheduling, and executes unmodified Linux userspace binaries such as Arch Linux AArch64 userland, bash, coreutils, and strace. The implementation covers 100+ Linux syscalls including fork/exec, signals, ptrace, futex, epoll, mmap, pipes, sockets, inotify, pidfd, and statx, alongside drivers for UART, RTC, virtio, interrupts, and a VFS with ext4, FAT32, tmpfs, procfs, sysfs, devfs, and cgroupfs.
