Gita is a command-line tool for managing multiple Git repositories simultaneously. It allows developers to register repositories, view their status (branch, modifications, commit logs) side-by-side, and batch-delegate git commands or shell commands to one, many, or all registered repos. The tool supports grouping, context-based scoping, custom color schemes, custom info display, and asynchronous execution for performance. Written in Python, it stores configuration in CSV files under ~/.config/gita/ and uses subprocess/asyncio to run git commands. The architecture is a monolithic CLI application with a well-organized argparse interface, separate modules for repo management, git status extraction, and configuration I/O.
