This repository provides an infrastructure-as-code solution for deploying a live streaming platform on AWS using AWS Elemental MediaLive for transcoding, AWS Elemental MediaPackage for packaging, and Amazon CloudFront for content delivery. The core is an AWS CDK application (TypeScript) that synthesizes a CloudFormation template, which provisions all necessary resources including IAM roles, S3 buckets, CloudFront distributions, and Lambda-backed custom resources. The Lambda functions (Node.js) handle lifecycle management of MediaLive inputs/channels and MediaPackage channels/endpoints that are not natively supported by CloudFormation. A demo React web player is deployed to S3 and served via CloudFront, allowing users to preview HLS, DASH, and CMAF streams. The solution includes a build script for packaging and publishing, unit tests for Lambda functions, and anonymized usage metrics. It is actively maintained with regular security updates and follows AWS best practices for security and infrastructure as code.
