This repository is the AMD MxGPU SR-IOV virtualization stack. It is a shipped product codebase consisting of a Linux kernel module (GIM), a userspace GPU virtualization core library (libgv), a userspace system-management library and CLI (SMI), a RAS/error-handling subsystem (uniras), and package support for deb/rpm via DKMS. The code's actual behavior, verified from sources, is hardware-level management of AMD Instinct and datacenter GPUs: SR-IOV PF/VF lifecycle, VF scheduling and world switches, FB and memory partitioning, VFIO-PCI live migration, mailbox communication with firmware, GPU telemetry, bad-page retirement, ECC/RAS event processing, and CPER crash record generation. Primary entry points include the kernel module built from gim/, the /dev/amdgv-cmd-handle ioctl surface, the amd-smi CLI (smi-lib/cli/cpp), and the Linux VFIO-PCI driver in gim/amd-vfio-pci/. Despite the presence of RAS data structures and firmware decode tables, this is clearly an application/software repository, not a data-pipeline or research project.
