This repository provides a tool for generating glyph packs (PBF files) from font files for use in vector tile maps, particularly Mapbox GL styles. It processes font directories, optionally combining multiple font files into a single font stack via a `fonts.json` configuration, and generates glyph data for the Unicode range 0-65535 in 256-point chunks. The core logic resides in `generate.js`, which uses the `fontnik` library to read font files and generate glyph outlines, and `@mapbox/glyph-pbf-composite` to combine glyphs from multiple fonts into a single PBF file per range. The output is placed in a `_output` directory with a hierarchical structure matching the font stack and Unicode ranges.
