Lichtblick is a robotics data visualization and analysis platform, forked from Foxglove Studio with BMW Group copyright. It is a monorepo delivering both an Electron desktop application and a web application. The system ingests robot sensor data from multiple formats (MCAP, ROS1/2 bags, ULog, Foxglove WebSocket) and provides an interactive panel-based workspace for inspecting, plotting, and annotating messages. Core panels include a 3D scene viewer (Three.js), time-series plots, map (Leaflet), diagnostic displays, image/video playback, teleoperation controls, and a user script editor. It features an extensible panel catalog, layout persistence with remote sync, and a benchmarking framework. While primarily an application, it includes significant data processing infrastructure for ROS message normalization, video codec parsing, and efficient worker-based stream handling.
