This repository is the full-stack implementation of Mega, a large-monorepo Git hosting and code collaboration platform with a Rust backend and a large React/Next.js frontend. The backend is split into several crates: mono provides the HTTP/SSH API server, ceres contains application services for Git operations, change lists (CLs), code review, build triggers, webhooks and notifications, jupiter handles persistence through SeaORM entities and storage services, jupiter-migrate manages a large sequence of database migrations, and orion/orion-server implement a Buck2-based distributed build orchestration system. The frontend in moon/apps/web is a feature-rich collaboration application with posts, notes, chat, notifications, project management, diff viewing, CL/merge-queue review, admin groups, OAuth integrations, and editor support. The core operational flow is: git push/import -> ceres transport and jupiter storage -> change list and merge-queue workflows -> build triggers sent to Orion -> build events/checks streamed back to the UI.
The LLM identified 5 files worth highlighting for reuse:
Defines a strict wire protocol for chunked Git LFS media transfer, including canonical JSON manifests, SHA-256 deterministic manifest IDs, chunk offset/length/encoding validation, and capability advertisement. The manifest generation and validation are self-contained and can be extracted for any binary chunk-transfer service requiring integrity checking.
Implements an append-only log over object storage using LogManifest and LogSegmentMeta with byte-range reads and contention-safe appends, explicitly hiding internal layout from callers. It is a reusable building block for durable event logs or WAL-like storage in Rust services.
Provides an entity store and ownership/target mappings used to evaluate Cedar authorization policies, mapping repos, change lists, issues, and target labels to principals and resources. The store abstraction is domain-agnostic and reusable for implementing attribute-based access control over domain objects.
Defines a port/trait for build trigger handlers, decoupling the trigger pipeline (git push, buck upload, retry, web edit) from the Orion build scheduler. This pluggable-handler pattern is reusable for event-driven pipeline systems that need to swap backends without changing change-calculation logic.
A frontend hook that caches streaming build logs using SSE with an HTTP fallback while managing mounted log panels. It isolates a reusable real-time log-viewing concern from the CL/CI feature and can be lifted into any web application needing resumable log tails.
