Badge Magic is a cross-platform Flutter application for programming LED name badges over Bluetooth Low Energy and for flashing their firmware over USB. In production, users compose text, freehand drawings, clipart, GIFs, and dozens of animations; apply flash/marquee/invert effects and speed/mode settings; then serialize the composed badge into a proprietary LED hex format and transmit it as BLE packets to a badge. The app also reads and writes badge slots, saves/loads badges as local JSON files, shares/imports badges via a gzip-compressed QR code scheme, and updates WCH microcontroller firmware on Android/Linux through a custom MethodChannel and OS-specific ISP binaries. Architecturally it is a standard Flutter app using Provider for state management and GetIt for service location, with a clear split between UI screens, state providers, and utility modules. The most interesting part is the protocol path: internal models are converted to LED-matrix hex data, then to BLE byte packets via DataToByteArrayConverter, and finally written through a scan/connect/write/completion BLE state machine using universal_ble. Unit tests cover byte utilities, converter logic, clipart processing, and packet generation. CI/CD spans Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, Windows, and web. Some areas show accumulated drift: several ARB locale files are empty, custom animation logic is duplicated between preview and transfer implementations, debug logging remains in production code, and the firmware release URL is hardcoded.
This repository contains a single browser userscript (`star.user.js`) that automates starring FOSSASIA repositories on GitHub, following specified users, and optionally following organizations. The script is executed by pasting it into the browser console while logged into GitHub. It uses a combination of DOM scraping (for following users/organizations) and popup windows with button clicks (for starring repositories), with a fallback to the GitHub API for fetching repository lists. The codebase is a monolithic JavaScript file with a large amount of embedded utility code (DOM helpers, a custom CSS selector parser, drag-and-drop support) that is largely unused or incomplete. The starring mechanism is fragile, relying on popups and DOM structure that may break with GitHub UI changes. The repository appears unmaintained, with no recent commits and significant technical debt in the form of outdated patterns and incomplete features.
This repository is the official static website for FOSSASIA (fossasia.org), an open-source organization. The site is primarily a collection of static HTML pages styled with Bootstrap 3 and custom CSS themes, with client-side JavaScript for dynamic features like blog feeds, tweet fetching, Instagram integration, Google Maps, and donation forms (Stripe/PayPal). A PHP contact form using the vendored SwiftMailer library handles email submissions. The build pipeline (Travis CI, Python 2.7) runs a sitemap generation script (j2build.py) and an image optimizer (gulp). The codebase is heavily duplicated, with a 'jsbuggy' directory containing near-identical JavaScript files, and over a dozen CSS theme files that differ only in color variables. Dependencies are outdated (Bootstrap 3.1.0, Python 2.7, SwiftMailer ~2009), and external APIs like loklak (for tweets) are no longer functional. The site is effectively a legacy static site with minimal maintainability and no modern build tooling or package management.
