This repository is the canonical ADC Performance Survey dataset maintained by Boris Murmann. It aggregates published ADC (analog-to-digital converter) performance data from ISSCC and VLSI Symposium papers between 1997 and 2026. The primary data artifact is an Excel workbook (xls/ADCsurvey_latest.xlsx) that is consumed by a set of Jupyter notebooks under plots/ to generate publication-quality figures such as FOMs plots, energy plots, aperture trend plots, and FOM trend plots. The repo also contains PDF resources and a short course presentation.
The LLM identified 3 files worth highlighting for reuse:
Loads the latest ADC survey Excel from the GitHub raw URL, concatenates ISSCC and VLSI data, computes FOMs, writes a normalized JSON, and renders a publication-quality PNG. The notebook is self-contained and demonstrates a reusable pattern for turning a maintained remote dataset into downloadable artifacts.
Reads the survey xlsx, filters aperture data, and produces a high-resolution trend plot. It is a clean template for plotting time-series survey metrics and can be adapted to other datasets by changing the source URL and column mappings.
Plots ADC conversion energy versus SNDR with envelope annotations. The notebook pattern of loading remote Excel, cleaning, and plotting is reusable for energy-vs-performance survey data.
